The Currence API is live. You can now pull our data directly into your own system and workflows without logging into the platform.
The teams financing and building the energy system are moving their work into AI. Agents and LLM workflows now support with the research, screening, and monitoring that analysts used to do by hand. But agents need high quality data that is structured, connected, and traceable to a validated source. The Currence API delivers outputs you can trust, calling our analyst-validated database directly, so companies, projects, contracts, deals, investors, funds, and signals arrive connected through our taxonomy and current as of today.
All of it lands in the place where the real work is done: your models, your CRM, your warehouse, your agents. Research that used to take hours to aggregate now shows up on its own. And instead of building the picture one company at a time, you get the whole market at once.
"As more energy and finance teams build out AI systems and workflows, they recognize that their systems are only as good as the data and context driving them," said Kim Zou, Currence CEO and Co-Founder. "The Currence API puts analyst-validated energy and investment market data where our clients' decisions actually get made."

What you can do with it
The API is built for teams who want to integrate decision-ready energy intelligence and data directly into their workflows. For example:
- Power an internal AI product or agent with Currence data.
- Enrich your CRM with company data, funding, sector, project announcements, and investors, refreshed on a schedule instead of by hand.
- Surface every relevant company in a category based on the Currence taxonomy and score them against your own criteria.
- Get alerted when something moves, like new financing, a project milestone, contract activity, a partnership, or a shutdown.
- Pull every deal, project, contract, and signal that touches a single company, alongside readiness scores and cost benchmarks.
- Bring the data into your own data warehouse and compare live market activity against your own internal data.
Who it's for
The Currence API serves the teams financing and building the energy system.
- Investors. Enrich every CRM record to our taxonomy, backfilled across past deals and refreshed on its own. Build a real-time agent to scan for any relevant companies, scored against your own thesis.
- Banks. Query Currence energy reports and data directly through your internal AI platform so all your banking teams are working off the same reliable source. Enrich your CRM to better originate opportunities and build better relationships earlier.
- Energy & utility innovation and strategy. Score inbound vendors or technology solutions against your criteria based on company traction, projects, and credibility so you can find best-fit solutions faster. Then check which peers deployed a given technology, at what stage, with what result before you shortlist a vendor.
- OEMs and developers. Find data center or power projects at the size, region, and stage you can sell into. Assess how project credibility is changing over time so you can prioritize the right opportunities.
How it works
Under the hood it's a straightforward JSON RESTful API. You can get access to all our key endpoints, including companies, projects, deals, investors, contracts, and research.
Setup is fast. You authenticate, point at an endpoint, and start pulling data. There's no proprietary client to install and no query language to learn.
Once connected, you can search and extract our data from within your own systems. Every record carries its relationships with it, so companies link to their projects, projects link to their contracts, etc.
How Currence customers are using it
Planeteer Capital, an early-stage fund, was one of the first teams to build on the API. Head of Platform Allie Mullen wired Currence data directly into Planeteer's own database and built a tool to enrich their CRM and make sure it never misses a deal.
It surfaces every relevant new company the day it appears, scored against the fund's thesis. It flags companies Planeteer once passed on the moment those companies raise again, surfacing the original pass reason and call notes alongside the new round details. And it keeps every record in the CRM enriched against the Currence taxonomy, backfilled across thousands of past deals and refreshed daily.
"This is where the alpha is," Mullen said. "The edge at early-stage is seeing everything and picking well, and this gives us the data to do both. We literally see 100% of the deals in our category."

FAQ
What data is available through the Currence API?
The API covers our Compass and Data Centers & Power datasets, with key endpoints for investors, companies, projects, contracts, and more. It's the same structured data that powers our products, mapped to the same taxonomy. You can take access to either dataset or both.
Does the Currence API include research?
A premium version of the API is available which also includes Currence’s research.
How often does the data update?
Continuously. Our AI engine ingests market events as they happen, structures them to our schema and then submits them to our analysts for curation, so what you pull reflects the market today.
What does it take to set up?
Onboarding takes just a few minutes. You can obtain an API key yourself on our platform, after which data access is instant.
Where can I send the data?
Anywhere your team works. Snowflake, S3, your own warehouse, internal models, CRM, or an agent workflow. Use is covered by your license agreement, which permits internal use and doesn't extend to redistributing or reselling the data outside your organization.
Can I use the Currence API to power AI agents and LLM workflows?
Yes, and that's one of the most common uses. The data is structured and linked, which is what agents need to reason reliably rather than guess.
How do I get access?
Clients can get started here. If you're not a client yet, book time with our team.
