Our story

We're in a major energy and AI supercycle. Demand for physical assets like energy, power, grid infrastructure, and compute has exploded. AI is the catalyst driving power demand, but the wave runs further: grid modernization, industrial reshoring, manufacturing at scale, a global fuels crunch.

For the teams building and financing this buildout — equipment manufacturers, developers, utilities, hyperscalers, investors, and banks — it simultaneously creates a generational opportunity and a delivery crisis.

But these teams are making decade-shaping decisions with bad tools. Decade-out outlooks on one end. Generic AI you can’t trust on the other. These leave teams reacting to change instead of driving it.

At the same time, AI has redefined what intelligence means, how it gets built, and how it gets delivered.

We started with CTVC, a newsletter tracking energy innovation and capital flows, now read by more than 75,000 industry leaders. As the focus shifted from innovation to deployment, we saw the need for better market intelligence to guide the decisions that would move the energy system. From there came Currence.
